Key Job Responsibilities
- In assigned regions, develop and execute the energy strategy to secure a grid connection, transmission and generation capacity
- Engage with utilities to build trust and learn about system operations and constraints
- Implement novel commercial structures and utility-scale solutions to improve project timelines, increase scale, and reduce carbon emissions
- Evaluate and influence energy policies to identify opportunities where an innovative commercial structure can be utilized to secure generation capacity
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years professional work experience in the energy industry
- Team-first approach in working with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure win-win outcomes
- Superior communication skills with an ability to prepare clear and professional materials, including reports and presentations
- An ability to thrive in an environment that requires constant experimentation
- Strong project management skills with an ability to work independently
- Strategic and creative mindset with a consistent ability to think outside the box
- Willingness to travel 25% for in person meetings
- Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of the electric or gas utility business model and the constraints preventing growth of the electric grid
- Experience developing renewable energy generation or BESS projects through the full development lifecycle
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate commercial agreements and collaborate with internal and external counsel
